What happens at your first visit?
Dr MaryAnne's goal is to make sure you feel comfortable, and to find out how she can help you with the best possible care and service in her office. Your initial visit with Dr MaryAnne starts by you filling out a few pages answering questions about your current condition, your health history, your lifestyle, and your health goals. You will then take time with Dr MaryAnne to discuss anything that pertains to your current health needs as well as aiming to find out why you're in your current state. After the discussion, you will have a small tour of the office and the design of your visit will be explained to you. Once you are ready to start the examination, you will be asked to change into a gown in order for your spine to be analysed and assessed. (Your privacy will be kept at all times. Please let us know if you feel uncomfortable at any time during the consultation.)
The Subluxation Station
The examination consists of a computerized, non-invasive & painless test consisting of thermal and surface electromyology (SEMG). Dr MaryAnne uses innovative technology certified by the U.S. Space Foundation, which is co-founded by NASA. The Subluxation Station scan assesses three parts of your spine and nervous system and will take up to 20 minutes.

Adjustment
After the Subluxation Station scan, you will have your first spinal adjustment. This is a very gentle, non-forceful, and specific technique to allow your body and brain to respond in a new and positive way. The goal of the adjustment is to facilitate your spine to release tension, and to slow down your fight-or-flight state. The first adjustment usually lasts no longer than 10 minutes.
Due to the interest of time and scheduling, the results of your scans, examination, and first adjustment will be discussed with you when you return on your second visit. A full report will be shown to you including a detailed explanation of the next steps in your care with Dr MaryAnne.
