Lots and lots of critters will keep those colds away!

A few months ago, lots of things changed in my life.

Well, it definitely seemed that way for me.

My husband got a new job.

I had to do everything else with the kids and in the household. (Tons of laundry.)

All for good reason.

But it was hectic. Seriously nuts.

It wasn't easy getting used to, but I managed, and now I'm getting used to it.

I've got a system down.

Still, it didn't help with my stress levels, and sure enough I felt run-down and under the weather.

My immune system got the brunt of it. I was sneezing all the time, blowing my nose, and felt really exhausted all the time.

Basically, I felt like shitttt.

No big whoop, right?

This time of year, it seems like everyone's got a cold and a bad cough, or even gets hit with a fever or a stomach bug.

I was dealing with this cold, and was praying that it wouldn't blow up into a nasty phlegmy cough.

So what did I do?

Well, I rested more. Took more time for myself. Went to bed earlier than usual.

Stayed off the wine and beer (sometimes that's so tough to do!).

I loaded up on Vitamin C and D. About 5000mg of Vit C a day, and 7,000-10,000iu of Vit D per day.

Healthy eating with lots of good probiotics.

Drank lots of lemon water and tea.

And I also got adjusted a lot (a couple times a week) to strengthen my nervous system.

I'm happy to say that my body really did a great job!

Hurray!

The cold never got worse than those annoying sneezes and lots of nose blowing. (My husband couldn't stand it when I woke him up in the night with the loud honking sounds.)

And happily, the cold didn't get a chance to infiltrate my lungs. No coughing.

Hurray!

Quite frankly, I don't understand why so many people keep thinking that they need to take medication and pills to suppress their cold and cough symptoms, and even antibiotics (they won't work because colds are caused by viruses, not bacteria. Antibiotics are useless with viruses.)

Our bodies are not deficient in paracetamol.

Sure, I get it. A cold is really annoying. And very uncomfortable.

But the more you suppress your symptoms, the weaker your body becomes and the longer that cold stays with you.

There was a recent study done with children to see what the effects of probiotics and Vit C with the occurrence of colds.

The results showed that when children were given a certain amount of probiotics and Vit C, they had drastically reduced occurrences of colds, fewer missed days of school, and milder symptoms.

That's all they were given. Nothing else.

I bet they'd even get better results if they threw in a few adjustments with these kids, too!

So, if you have a cold now, or when you do feel one coming on, STOP your crazy lifestyle pace, give yourself a break, go get a chiropractic adjustment or 2 or 3, and do the rest of the things I mentioned to help boost your healing inside your body!

See you soon!
