BeamBlock is fun, one-of-a-kind, challenging, and awesome!

Last weekend I went to a BeamBlock Masterclass.

HIIT - High Intensity Interval Training.

Amazing.

For one hour, we didn't stop moving from position to position, moving our bodies on and around the BeamBlock.

I discovered the areas of my body that are still inflexible and much weaker than I thought!

BeamBlock engages your butt muscles (gluteus maximus, medius, and minimus plus a few more smaller ones), and your core muscles (rectus abdominus, transverse abdominus, obliques, and quadratus lumborum, and others too)

(God, there are so many muscles involved!)

Maybe my abs haven't fully recovered after having three very large pregnancies, but seriously. Crazy core work in BeamBlock Yoga.

There were a couple dancers in the class and aside from the fact that they were at least 20 years younger than me, these girls nailed the class, doing every. single. pose. Each pose had at least 5 reps, holding for at least 5 seconds.

The lovely dancers.

The lovely dancers.

That's a different type of training. A different type of intensity.

Thierry Giunta, the founder and developer of BeamBlock (and who launched his product after a successful encounter on the Dragons' Den), held the class beautifully, teaching us and guiding us with ease and instruction, showing us how to perform the poses and doing the reps with us. On many occasions I had no idea how he could continue speaking while doing the poses! But then again, if you saw Thierry, you'd understand how. The man is FIT.

Anyone should check out BeamBlock. It's not just yoga. It's an excellent way to use and train your body in a new way, causing it to respond to a different stimuli and exercise, which jolts the body into revving the metabolism more.

All exercise is great for the body, but few engage the brain and balance centers of the nervous system like BeamBlock. This is why it's so intense. When you're on that BeamBlock platform, your brain does this thing where it recognises the tiny surface area that you're on, and BOOM! All the millions of nerve and muscle fibers fire to help you balance so you don't keep falling off.

Exercises this part of your brain and body has been shown to help tremendously with your health overall, specifically as you age, keeping your balance centers sharp and your nervous system clear.

I fully approve and highly recommend BeamBlock to everyone! Even kids!

Check in on BeamBlock's Facebook page to find out more and when you can take a class. I'm working on a new class with Thierry for my current Practice Members, so send me a message if you want to do it!

Hope to see you there!
